Invested in you.

We are fiduciaries.

As a registered investment advisor (RIA), we have a strict fiduciary duty to always act in your best interest. This means that, in everything we do, we must be loyal, use reasonable care, disclose any conflicts of interest, and fully set forth our compensation. When you speak to your Means Wealth advisor, you know that you will always hear our professional opinion – even if it means we lose your business. We do this not only because we are required to by law, but also because we inherently believe it’s the right thing to do.

Our fees are transparent.

As fiduciaries, we are committed to always act in your best interest. To that end, we do not charge fees for every trade that is made within your account, and the investments we select are low cost or institutional class shares. The advisory fees we earn are solely based upon the amount of assets we are managing for you. This means we are always sitting on the same side of the table as you. No product.  No profit or production goals…just our clients’ best interests at heart.

We feel so strongly about our team and services, we offer a 6-month fee-back guarantee*.

* Note that we cannot guarantee investment performance: market losses cannot be reimbursed. Your request must be made no later than 30 days after the first six months of your account’s inception, and your fees will be refunded within 30 days. Closeout fees charged by the custodian will not be reimbursed. This guarantee does not apply to new accounts of existing clients or their households.

As an independent firm, we answer to you.

Your financial needs are unique and are influenced by a variety of factors, including your financial goals, estate planning, and income tax strategies. As an independent firm, we are not beholden to shareholders or a large parent institution. Because of this, we aren’t being pressured to push any products or investments, or to recommend a generic portfolio designed to meet the needs of thousands of investors. Instead, we can be agnostic in our investment selections, selecting investment vehicles that are truly best for you and building custom portfolios when a “model” portfolio just does not suit your needs.

Your security is paramount to us.

As your investment advisor, we do not take ownership of your assets. Instead, your assets are held by a third-party custodian (typically Fidelity) in a separate account that you own. Accounts held at Fidelity are backed by Fidelity’s Customer Protection Guarantee*, which will reimburse you for any losses related to unauthorized activity within your Fidelity accounts if this activity occurred through no fault of your own.

At Means Wealth, we leverage secure cloud services with built-in redundancy and compliance retention for all data and communications. Our access to these services is locked down using conditional access policies, protected by encrypted connections and multifactor authentication, and funneled through multilayered firewall security. In addition to these modern security technologies, we employ continuous active monitoring for signs of suspicious or malicious behavior and use an encrypted secure email service for any communications containing any sensitive information. Further, we have implemented ongoing employee training in security and privacy best practices, mandatory telephone call back on email requests for third party transfers of cash or securities, document shredding, and premises security monitoring.

We have worked with families for generations.

Our team-based approach ensures that you and your family will see continuity in your advisory team over the years. Working with families is one of our passions and, over the course of three generations and almost nine decades in the business, we have had the pleasure of working with clients, their children, their grandchildren, and beyond.

Despite our growth, we still offer that “small firm” feel.

In the past ten years, we have expanded our business to new locations and have increased the amount of assets we are managing for our clients. Despite that growth, it remains important to us that you still receive that “small firm” experience. When you need to reach us, you won’t be bounced to a phone tree; instead, when you call during our regular business hours, you’ll be greeted by one of our friendly employees. Your advisory team is only a phone call or email away, and we pride ourselves on ensuring that we respond to our clients as quickly as possible.
