Means Wealth Management Announces New Leadership
Means Wealth Management, a family-owned wealth management and retirement planning firm established in 1935, serving clients nationwide from its offices in Maine and South Carolina, announced the following changes in leadership: Paul B. Means, Chairman (formerly President), Zachary P. Means, President (formerly CEO) and Erin Barry, CEO (formerly CFO).
Paul Means – Chairman
Paul joined his father at Means Wealth in 1972 and has served as the President of the firm since 1981. His dedication to his clients and his knowledge of the industry has attributed to the amazing success of Means Wealth over the past 50 years.
Paul is a current Board Member of the Bangor Y and a member of the Y Foundation. He also serves as Chair of the Investment Committee for the Bangor Y. In addition, Paul is the co-chair of the Bangor Y’s upcoming Capital Campaign. He is a member of the Bangor Mechanic Association. He also is a long-time member of Penobscot Associates, Inc., an investment club organized in 1957.
Paul will become the new Chairman and his son, Zachary, will be taking over as President. Paul states, “I am honored to have Zach take the helm as President. I am certain that his commitment to excellence and proven leadership will serve our clients and employees well for generations to come.”
Zachary Means – President
Zach, grandson of original founder David Means, has been with the firm since 2009 serving as CEO and Financial Advisor. Throughout Zach’s tenure he has helped the company grow from $150M in assets under management to nearly $1B.
Zach is an integral part of his community and has served on several boards. Currently he is on the Board of Directors at Machias Savings Bank. Zach also is the Founder of FUSION sports.
His new role as President will allow him to focus on his passion of helping his clients achieve their financial goals.
Zach is pleased to announce his successor, Erin Barry as the new CEO of Means Wealth, stating that “I have worked closely with Erin [on this transition] over the past year. I am certain that her attention to detail and dedication to our firm’s success will make this an easy transition.”
Erin Barry – CEO
Erin joined Means Wealth in 2019 as Controller, then quickly moved into the role of CFO. Prior to joining the team at Means, she worked in BerryDunn’s Healthcare/Not-for-Profit audit services group and obtained her CPA license while there. After approximately seven years, she took her knowledge of the healthcare industry and joined Northern Light Health as the Director of Internal Audit, serving in that role for just over 4 years. Erin is also very active in her community and currently serves as Vice Chair of the United Way of Eastern Maine. She also was a past Chair of FUSION: Bangor.
